Specialty Classes
Specialty Classes take your basic skills and improve on them. You’ll be surprised how many different Specialty Classes there are! Below are just a few from the list:
Night Diver Specialty
Explore the underwater world at night! Just like on land, the underwater world is a completely different place at night. The reef creatures and corals take on a new look and you get to see totally different fish and other animals. (some additional equipment required)
Environment Diver Specialty
This specialty class gives you the knowledge to understand the various marine ecosystems that make up the dive sites and to help protect them for future generations.
Wreck Diver Specialty (no penetration)
Learn about safe (exterior) Wreck Diving. Do a survey (including a map of the wreck), learn about the hazards of wreck diving, and enjoy the many wrecks off of the coast. (some additional equipment required)
Underwater Photography Specialty
The basic techniques and tips for shooting good photos underwater are discussed in this specialty class. Take what you learn in class on an actual dive and “capture” those colorful fish and interesting animals for your friends to see! (some additional equipment required)
Underwater Videography Specialty
The basic techniques and tips for shooting good video underwater are discussed in this specialty class. Using your own video camera, document all of the wonderful colors and life on the reef! (some additional equipment required)
Deep Diver Specialty
Learn safe techniques and skills for successful dives to deeper depths (130ft max). Learn about nitrogen narcosis, how depth affects colors and proper air management planning. (some additional equipment required)
Chances are, if you have an interest in a particular underwater activity, there’s probably a Specialty Class for you!
