Tri With Doug - My Journey Through Life as a Multi-Sport Athlete
My Life as a Multi-Sport Athlete Doug
Welcome to my journey through life as a multi-sport athlete…
…About 5 years ago I did my first triathlon on a dare from a friend. I’d pretty much been a runner most of my life, with a little cycling thrown in here and there. Never did I dream I could put swimming, cycling and running all together until I did. I was immediately hooked, and haven’t looked back yet!
…Prior to that, I was doing obstacle course races and SCUBA diving. My running improved by doing obstacle courses, and as a diver, I always thought I was a pretty good swimmer. The problem was now the running and the swimming actually had to cover longer distances! So I set out with my training and racing partner, Terri, to improve my skills and began my triathlon career.
…This blog is a documentation of sorts of my triathlon experiences. I’ll be sharing my training issues, goals and achievements, as well as my race experiences. There will also be some articles from various sources that I find interesting, and pictures of me and my friends from various events.
…I am not a coach, nutritionist, sports medicine professional or doctor. The information provided here is based on my own experiences as a triathlete, as well as some interesting articles on the sport, and is in no way to be considered advice or endorsement of any products or services. If I inspire you to get exercising and participate in a sport, that’s great (!), but before you start any physical activity, you should seek medical advice from a physician.
…So take a look and read a post or two (and maybe leave a comment), and also check out a photo gallery or two for some cool race photos of me and my friends and teammates!
